On April 10th 2015, a coalition of seven parties namely: Democratic Congress (DC), Lesotho Congress for Democracy (LCD), Marema-Tlou Freedom Party (MFP), National Independent Party (NIP), Basotho Congress Party (BCP), Lesotho People's Congress (LPC), Popular Front for Democracy (PFD) signed a coalition agreement which sets out the operations of the coalition government.

The signing of this document was held at the National Parliament Buildings in Maseru. Present were all party leaders as well as the ministers. While presenting the agreement, the Lesotho's Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Lesotho, Dr. Pakalitha Mosisili, said some of the objectives of the agreement are to restore the national peace and stability, which threatened Lesotho's development growth and also to address issues of development.

He added that some of the areas of work they want to prioritize include reducing poverty, creating employment, fostering economic growth and to address the needs of the vulnerable groups. He said each ministry is tasked to develop a plan of action that reflects national development plans including the Post 2015 Development Agenda.

In his presentation, he also touched on issues of coalition management where he said all the parties have agreed to work collaboratively and added that each partner has access to other ministries and they will receive regular briefings on matters of interest. He also said that they will convene meetings on a monthly basis to discuss programmes to implement and check on progress in order to ensure that all partners are well informed and all the parties are at par with each other, and they are highly committed.
